Winners at the TLMI Annual Conference 2012

Every October, some of the Whitlam Group team members attend the Tag & Label Manufacturers Associations (TLMI) 2012 Annual Conference to network and learn with label and packaging industry leaders. The TLMI Annual Conference is the labeling world’s marquee event and concludes every year with an award ceremony, and just like previous years, the Whitlam team walked away with awards.
During the 35th TLMI Annual Awards Competition ceremony, it was announced that our company won first prize awards in in two categories–North American Flexography Line/Non-Prime and EDP Labels. We were awarded the Innovator Award in the North American Flexography Line/Non-Prime category because of the uniqueness and high quality of our Evidence Bag label; it was the first time Whitlam has ever won the top prize in this category. It was our Blood Donor Instructions label, however, that put us at the top of heap in the EDP category. Both of these awards not only illustrate that we create award-worthy products, but that we are also striving always to be the best and always create new and innovative labels.
The TLMI 2012 Annual Conference also included a presentation from Whitlam Group’s Alex Elezaj, who acts as the TLMI Young Leaders Development Organization (YLO) chairman. The presentation, entitled “What Lean Means to Printers,” focused on the Real Value of Lean. Alex has been chairman of the YLO since December 2011. The organization is designed to help young professionals in the label and the label-making industries an avenue to “exchange ideas, pursue learning and share strategies that will aid” them in advancing their careers.
Our goal at Whitlam is to not only advance the label industry as a whole but also share that knowledge with the rest of the world. We take pride in all the work we do here and it’s important to remember that without the help of our dedicated staff, the awards and recognitions we received would be possible. Thank you to all the hardworking Whitlam workers; without you, we wouldn’t have walked away with our Whitlam Wins at TLMI Annual Conference.
