For products that need eye-catching appeal to the consumer, the use of our four-color process combined with spot colors and varnishes can enhance, highlight and enrich the appearance of high-visibility products and packaging. These labels are available on paper or film and provide excellent durability. Films better suit squeeze applications where paper may wrinkle or deteriorate.

Laminates are often used when the prime label requires maximum protection against abrasion and handling damage (i.e. refrigerated squeeze products). Varnishes offer lighter protection from abrasions and are an economical alternative to film laminates. DECORATIVE FOILS: HOT OR COLD Special hot foils can be used in conjunction with flexo printing to add rich and colorful borders, highlights and graphic features. The hot foil colors are transferred to the substrate using a heated rotary die, a one-time tooling charge that can be reused for the life of the artwork*. Hot foil is recommended for high volume quantities.

A more economical solution to hot foil is the cold foil process, done at room temperature using a standard flexo printing plate. Coupled with the flexo printing plate and running at higher press speeds creates a lower-cost label. The cold foil process may not always be as smooth as hot foil, but the economical advantage far outweighs the slight variations for many applications.

Reflective labels provide maximum impact — day or night. Materials are available in a variety of colors and reflectivity levels. Finished labels may be die cut on rolls or individually sheeted with a back slit for easy removal of the liner. Materials can be further customized by adding barcodes for traceability, part numbers or consecutive numbering.
