Whitlam Label Company won First Place in the TLMI 2011 Awards

Whitlam Label Company won First Place in the TLMI 2011 Awards for Excellent Technical Printing of a Coupon. The TLMI Annual Awards Competition is an annual event that "aims to stimulate innovative printing and to recognize technical achievement in all areas of the narrow web industry, including tags and labels, cartons, flexible packaging, non-woven pressure-sensitives and more. The competition recognizes and honors the finest efforts of our converter members throughout the previous 12-month period." Whitlam was one of 55 first-place winners.

Young Leaders Organization at TLMI Converter Meeting 2011

The TMLI Young Leaders Organization (YLO) has been making good progress and has more than 50 participants to date. The YLO has recently moved its focus to universities in an effort to attract more skilled packaging and graphic design students to work in the label industry once they graduate. Whitlam Label Company Chief Operating Officer Alex Elezaj and YLO chairman said, "We feel it's important that we communicate the benefits and opportunities of being a young professional in the label industry."

TLMI Names Co-Chairs for 2013 Conference

The Tag & Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI) has named its three co-chairs for the Technical Conference. The conference is held bi-annually in Chicago, Ill. Whitlam Label Company's own Michelle Shaieb will be co-chair alongside Harper Corporation's James Kissner and Wade Fouts of Wilson Manufacturing. Paul Brauss, TLMI technical committee chair, said. "I am delighted that Wade, James and Michelle have agreed to be co-chairs of the 2013 TLMI Technical Conference. The conference is one of the most prestigious and informative events our industry has, and being nominated as a co-chair is an honor, as well as an opportunity to grow, foster new friendships and provide a valuable service to TLMI."

Print Solutions 2010 Awards

Grand Awards for Labels & Tags, Workflow : Patient Laserband
A customer requested a band/tracking system to track patients during natural disasters. The customer also wanted a consecutive number barcode label that could be removed and used for patient forms samples, as well as a band for quick identification of patient status in triage. Whitlam created a solution made of film to withstand the rigors of disaster environments. It incorporated variable data for tracking and traceability. Whitlam integrated the customer's requirements into one band with six removable barcodes that could be used for patient forms or samples as needed. Color-coding allowed for visibility of patients' statuses in triage. "Someone did a very good job thinking all of this through," one judge said.
