Whitlam Group has been a leader in the labeling industry since 1973. One of the main reasons we are able produce state-of-the-art labeling solutions is because of our in-house lab capabilities. Our quality lab uses top-of-the-line equipment to ensure that all of our products will be produced to the standard of our customers. Today we invite you to read on and learn about a few of the quality tests we care able to provide. You can also visit our in-house lab capabilities page to learn about all the quality tests we can run for your labels. Whitlam Group will do everything in our power to make sure we can provide you with all of your labeling needs. So let’s move on and learn about a few of the great capabilities of our quality lab.
One of our investigations is our abrasion test. This test has the capability to show the sustainability of a label’s legibility under different degrees of abrasion. The abrasion test also informs us of a label’s durability of numerous varnishes and laminates that can be applied to labels, as well as the strength of the printed ink systems on various labels.
Next, we’ll speak about our ability to test the quality and readability of printed barcodes. For all the barcodes that we print, we first make sure that they are scannable and ready to hit the open market. While we are running our barcode quality test, we make sure to assign an ANSI grade based upon the level of readability. Whitlam Group always discards any barcodes receiving a grade of “C” or lower. We will never let an average product leave our factory, and this includes the barcodes we print as well.
We also have the ability to test how well a label can resist high temperatures with our aging and resistance test. The two ovens we have in our factory will provide us with information that will let us know how well you label can sustain temperatures of up to 220 degrees Celsius.
Another quality test we run on our labels is called the thermal cycle test. This gives us information of a label’s ability to stand-up against various environmental conditions in cyclical format. This is conducted by using an oven, freezer and humidity test. The information helps us to understand how well a label will be able to handle heat at extreme temperatures. This test also gives us essential information on how humidity will affect a label and other environmental testing concerns.
Finally, we’re going to highlight our peel strength quality test. This is a very important tool, as it has the ability to inform Whitlam Group’s personnel about the amount of force that is needed to remove a specific label from multiple surfaces. This is great for every organization in the market, because we can give you the label you want, based upon your business’s personal specifications.
As stated in the beginning, these are just a few of the numerous quality testing capabilities of Whitlam Group.
